This might be the right fit if

You know this transition deserves extra support.

The Concierge College Transition Program  is not crisis intervention. It is proactive care designed to help students find their footing before things unravel, and to give families a steady, informed presence on the ground.

This service is well-suited for:

  • College students navigating the transition to university life
  • Students who have benefitted from therapy or support in the past
  • Students relocating to New Orleans and adjusting to their new city
  • Families seeking peace of mind during this major developmental shift
  • Young adults with a history of depression, stress/anxiety, and/or perfectionism
  • Families who value proactive support rather than waiting for challenges to escalate

What Concierge Means at Cypress

Proactive. Personal. Present.

01

Support that doesn't wait for a crisis

Most college counseling is reactive. A student reaches a breaking point, eventually finds the campus health center, waits weeks for an appointment. Concierge support is the opposite. It is in place before things get hard, so that when they do, your student already has a relationship and a resource.

02

A clinician, not a check-in service

Jennifer brings a wealth of clinical experience and deep familiarity with the educational and developmental landscape of young adulthood. This is not an app, a peer counselor, or a hotline. It is a licensed clinician who knows your student by name and attends to the full picture of who they are.

03

Built for the student, informed by the family

Your student is the client. Their sessions are confidential. But Jennifer works with families too, holding the broader context and helping parents understand what is developmentally normal, what warrants concern, and how to stay connected without over-functioning from a distance.

What the Support Includes

What this actually
looks like.

The Concierge College Transition Program is tailored to each student. No two packages are identical. The following reflects the range of what Jennifer offers, shaped by what each student needs most.

Regular one-on-one sessions

Weekly or biweekly sessions with Jennifer, typically during the first semester, in person at her New Orleans office or via telehealth. Focused on adjustment, identity, relationships, stress management, and whatever the student brings in.

Pre-arrival planning

A session or two before the student arrives in New Orleans. Getting ahead of known stressors, setting intentions, and establishing a relationship before the transition begins. Families can participate in the initial consultation.

Responsive access

Jennifer is not a 9-to-5 resource. Concierge clients have access to a higher level of responsiveness between sessions when things come up. Students know they can reach out and be heard without waiting weeks for the next appointment.

Parent consultation calls

Scheduled calls with parents to provide developmental context, guidance on how to support their student from a distance, and reassurance about what is normal versus what warrants more attention. Clear, honest, and never alarmist.

Campus and resource navigation

Jennifer knows New Orleans and is familiar with local campus resources, culture, and the specific pressures students face in that environment. She can help students connect to the right campus supports when appropriate.

Pathway to ongoing therapy

For students who need more than transition support, Jennifer can step into an ongoing individual therapy relationship. The groundwork is already laid. There is no cold start, no repeat intake, and no referral to someone the student doesn't know.

A Note for Parents and Families

Your role is changing. Not ending.

Most families who find Cypress are parents doing research on behalf of their student. You are not overreacting. You are paying attention. That is exactly the right instinct.

What families often worry about

The things that keep parents up at night

  • Their student is struggling but won't ask for help
  • They are too far away to know what's really going on
  • Campus counseling has long waitlists and limited availability
  • Their student had support at home and they don't know what fills that gap
  • They want to help but not hover
  • Something feels off but they can't name exactly what

What Jennifer offers families

A steady, informed presence on the ground

Jennifer does not share session content with families. Your student's confidentiality is real and respected. But she does work with families directly through scheduled parent consultations, offering context, developmental framing, and honest guidance on how to stay connected without crossing into unhelpful territory.

She is also a systems thinker who understands that students exist within families, institutions, and communities. When she works with your student, she sees all of it.

"When I first began therapy with Jen in 2021, I felt that I was living in a perfect storm - balancing the stresses of college, navigating a life-threatening illness in my family, and coming to terms with a traumatic event from years prior. At a time when everything felt incredibly overwhelming after receiving a PTSD diagnosis and carrying more than I knew how to handle, having consistent support from Jen gave me a much needed sense of stability and trust.

Through some of the hardest moments of my college years, Jen was a steady presence who showed compassion and met me where I was at. She celebrated my successes (in life, in school, and in the room), helped me navigate setbacks, and reminded me that it is possible to heal. I not only survived an incredibly difficult chapter, but graduated with a stronger ability to trust my instincts and to give myself grace."

What to Expect

How this works in practice.

The Concierge College Transition Program is structured around the student's entry into school. Jennifer keeps a small caseload for this service to ensure each student gets real attention, not a scaled-down version of it.

The initial consultation involves both the student and family. From there, the work is the student's. Jennifer stays in touch with parents through scheduled calls, separate from the student's sessions.

First-semester focus

The core package is built around the first semester of college. Sessions are weekly or biweekly, with flexibility to adjust as the student settles in. Support can continue into the second semester for students who benefit from continuity.

In-person or virtual

In-person sessions at Jennifer's New Orleans office, or via secure telehealth. Many students use a combination of both depending on their schedule and location.

Family consultation included

Scheduled parent consultation calls are built into the concierge package. These are separate from the student's sessions and focused specifically on how families can best support without overreaching.

Transition Support Package

Start with an initial family consultation. It is a 45 minute session for $100, which is applicable toward the all-inclusive $6000 package.
